What Made the 1960's A-Bodies So Special

Posted on

A-body vehicles used the oldest platform in production, making rear-wheel vehicles starting as early as 1938 clear until 1981. A new A-body platform rolled out on the production line in 1982, but there is something special about those early model A-bodies, especially those that came off the line in the 1960's. The 1960's were a special time for vehicles. This was the decade filled with names like the Dart, Barracuda, Duster, Valiant and others. The 1950's and 1960's was really the heyday for the American vehicle, as people enjoyed economic prosperity that allowed more families to have the opportunity to bring home one of these special vehicles.

Today, people are still in love with these A-body models. Whether it's a love of the craftsmanship of that era or nostalgia for a vehicle owned by a relative back then, this is a very popular vehicle for the home vehicle enthusiast.
